Life can get pretty rocky, and it's okay not to have it all together. I wrote this post out on my WhatsApp Channel, (Me, Myself and I if you want to look it up), a little while ago, so I decided to put it all together.
Here are 10 reminders for those moments when the life gets a bit hard:
Everyone Hurts: We may hurt differently, but everyone hurts. You're not alone.
We All Bleed: Just like pain, we might bleed different blood, but underneath it all, we're all human.
Coping is Personal: We all cope in our own ways. It's a journey, and everyone learns how to navigate it.
Lean on Friends: Don't isolate yourself. Your friends are there for a reason. They care. Let them in.
Communicate: Explain your feelings to your friends. You'd be surprised how much they can empathize when given the chance.
Understanding ≠ Exact Experience: Your friends may not fully understand your pain and what you're going through, but they've faced their battles. Don't push them away.
Break the Cycle: Hurt people hurt people. Be careful not to hurt other people just because you're hurting.
Acknowledging Hurt: Once you are feeling better, reach out to your friends. Even if you didn't mean to, you may have made them feel alone and rejected, by not sharing your pain with them, or ignoring them because you were busy processing what you were going through.
Apologize First: If you've hurt your friends, a sincere apology is always a great start. They may be in the dark about your struggles. Don't blame them for not knowing - I mean how could they know, if you didn't tell them.
Apologies Aren't Everything: Although apologies make an amazing start, remember they are not a fix-all. But they show you're willing to make amends.
Remember, it's okay not to be okay, and reaching out can be the first step to healing. 💖✨
